It's been a year since I started dating Adam, and we haven't killed each other, began WW3, or started any nuclear holocausts .
It all started out when I humiliated myself in front of him and his family. (Apparently it's not cool to mistake a firefighter for a cop and vice versa. Oops!) Even after a night of being teased relentlessly by his dad, he came back looking for me. It took him a couple times of trying to track me down, but he finally caught up with me while I was on shift over at Coastal Flats on a Friday night. Adam came to the bar with all of his fire buddies, and I instantly knew it was him once he smiled. We made eye contact, and I waved. We talked a couple of times during my shift, and I ended up being the one asking for his number. He still jokes that all he had to do was show up, because I did all of the work. We ended up talking until one in the morning, and our first official date lasted into the wee hours of the morning (he left just before sunrise). The rest is history.
(If you're trying to find an image that describes our relationship, this would be it.)
Adam is one of the biggest supporters of my photography. From the very beginning, he told me he sees how important it is to me and he respects it. He helps me push myself and finds ways to make me a better person/business woman/friend. I cannot find the words that truly express my gratitude for it all.
He manages to put up with all of my quarks and my weird habits (while laughing at them) and lets me be the goofy person I am. He knows me better than anyone else, and seems to be 5 steps ahead of me consistently. He knows how to turn my worst of moods into one where I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. He does the little things that remind me how much I love him.
I can't wait for all of the adventures that we will have. (If we get my car stuck in mud in the middle of the woods again, I guess that's okay as long as you protect me from the spiders.)
Happy One Year Adam! <3 (I hope you're managing to have some fun at your military thing this weekend.)
